If you’re subscribed to my newsletter (or one of the few frequent flyers here), you might have noticed the growing number of US-themed posts on this blog – some of them authored by me, and some by “The Hipmunk”.

Now, I have been solo scribbling nearly everything you see on this space for the past five years, so I understand it seems quite peculiar to see another author suddenly sharing the reins.

Here’s why.

Thanks to Google, I’ve found out majority of my readers are from the Philippines, followed by the US.  Of those Philippine-based readers, a number also went or have plans to go to the US. Writing about destinations in the States and offering relevant guides and tips from travel booking site Hipmunk is an effort to create more value for you, the readers.

And while I am capable of cracking such destination guides, being based in the Philippines, I do acknowledge too that that the hip,USA-based travelers/ wordsmiths at  Hipmunk have the perfect blend of knowledge and experience (often greater than mine) to deliver travel content that’ll help ease up your America-bound travels. Forbes wouldn’t name Hipmunk the World’s Best Travel Site if they don’t.

You’ll be seeing more of this guy on this site from now on.

So starting August, you’ll see regular weekly posts about various US states (some penned by me and some, by The Hipmunk staff). That doesn’t mean my travel narratives on the Philippines will be brushed aside. I’ll still babble about them, if you’d let me (Well, you could try to gag me, but I doubt that’ll stop me at all.).

Change is good.  Change broadens our imagination and leads us to new territories, smarter and better-equipped. At least that’s how I hope this particular change will do. Not that this is change change, anyways. I’d rather see it as augmenting. Supplementing. Bringing in more content befitting diverse travel choices and lifestyle. And I do hope you find it befitting yours.
