Dining is a holistic experience. In every restaurant we visit, “great food” is relatively subjective, and is wholly dependent on the person’s overall experience, including the environment, efficiency of service, and the restaurant’s ability to leave lasting imprints on the tastebuds and bring back memories through taste, aroma and sight.
At Conrad’s Cafe and Grill, fortunately, ours was beyond average.
Breaded porkchop. Hefty, soft and hearty.
Dinner was a filling smorgasbord of Filipino food: breaded porkchop, pork sisig, grilled blue marlin steak, crab relleno, chopsuey, liempo and soup (sorry, I forgot what it was, but it was just as delicious as the rest!). Every viand possessed that rich Filipino taste.
My favorite was the Grilled Blue Marlin Steak because of its fresh, no-lansa taste and flavorful sauce. We all raved about the breaded porkchop and chopsuey, too.
Porkchop, Rellenong alimango and liempo
Grilled Blue Marlin steak. No fishy flavor here
Price is on the mid-budget side, with each ala-carte order ranging from P300-P400. The hefty servings made up for the price though, as each order can satisfy about 3-4 persons. If ever, the only thing we find average in the restaurant was the service, with servers being rather cold and nonchalant most of the time. Luckily, food was served fast and hot, so we didn’t mind the waiters anymore. I do hope that this is one aspect that the management would work on.
Cool and classic Vespa scooter on display at the entrance
