I’ve declared mine, now it’s time for yours.


In the spirit of  promoting  love for the Philippines and all things Filipino, I’m holding my first bloggersary contest, My Favorite Destination in the Philippines. It’s also my way of extending my warmest thanks to the people who keep up with this blog no matter how indefinite my hiatus(es) at times can be. The blog has survived a year-and-a-half of occassional whines and raves (and yes, the anniversary treat is rather delayed already), and I have you, dear subscribers and readers, to thank.





Who can join? As I am pro-equal opportunity and anti-bias, everyone in the Philippines the chance to join, as long as he/she has traveled one part of the country and is a Facebook user (I mean, who isn’t?).


What are the perks? One (1) grand prize winner will be chosen and shall win Free Entrance for 2 at Splash Island Resort in Laguna (worth P1,000). Splash Island passes are valid from October until January 2012.



I will also choose two (2) runners up:one from the males, and one from the females. The female winner will get to win a Maybelline Lip Gloss and an awesome pink cellphone case with coin purse.



The male winner wins a Bench Cielo Body Spray and a cool Lazer pen holder.


      






How do I join? 
1. Log on and like the Filipina Explorer fan page on Facebook.
2. Be a Follower through Google Friend Connect ( If you have a Facebook account, it’s okay not to add me on Google Connect and vice-versa. But I’ll give points for each extra effort you make to help me spread the word.)
3. Share this contest in your Facebook wall.
4.  Leave a comment below this post, answering this question:
“What’s your favorite travel destination in the Philippines and why?”
5. In your comment, please also indicate your full name, the URL/ link to your Facebook wall post, Facebook user ID, Google connect user ID, and your e-mail address.
6. Keep your comments meaningful but concise. Entries will be judged based on originality and substance. Extra points for following directions.




For how long will the contest run? Contest period is from September 30, 2011 to 11:59pm of October 21, 2011.


How do I know if I won? Winners will be announced within a week from the end of the contest period on Filipina Explorer’s Facebook fan page and on this blog. Winners shall be contacted via the e-mail address indicated on their comment. All prizes will be mailed to the winners via courier. All shipping fees shall be shouldered by moi, of course. Prizes are transferable, but NOT convertible to cash.

  3. what is my favorite travel destination? I say Los Baños Laguna for its hot springs, wide soccer field, greener environment, fresher air, Laguna lake, Mt. Makiling and of course, Maria Makiling and its rich stories.

I have never been to places.But If I would given a chance I difinitely choose to be in the summer capital ofthe Philippines,the breathtaking Boracay.It's the ultimate travel destination when it comes to the scenery,the foods,the sunset,just everything especially the crystal blue waters and the white sand.

    My favorite travel destination is Boracay because of white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and cool,soothing breeze.There's a lot of festivals, contests, and sporting events happening everyday.There is also live bands, fire dancing, and bar hopping.

  11. What's your favorite travel destination in the Philippines and why?

    Tuguegarao, one of my fave places in the country that's hard to spell but it is definitely spellbinding.. Visiting the Callao cave had me under its spell after exploring a being amused of the amazing spectacle at dusk when thousands of bats fly out from the cave’s mouth. It's truly worth exploring!

  16. What's your favorite travel destination in the Philippines and why?

    My favorite travel destination is Tagaytay City because of its cool climate due to its high altitude. Tagaytay City also provides a good view of the Taal Volcano, that is very very relaxing. I don't need to spend too much just to have a nice travel because Tagaytay City is very near to my place which is Laguna and also near to Manila, only 55 km (34 mi) away from Manila via Aguinaldo Highway.

    There are many choices in Tagaytay City. If I'm tight on budget I can still relax at Tagaytay Picnic Grove and People's Park In The Sky, me and my friends don't need to spend so much there, we can bring our own foods and still enjoy the getaway! And if we have a budget there are lots of choices too, there are so many nice and fine cuisine and hotels around the area.

    Tagaytay City is one of the nicest weekend getaway that is near the Metro that you don't have to spend so much just to relax and to travel. I so love it!

My favorite travel destination in the Philippines is Boracay because it is one of the best and most beautiful beaches in the world and you can do a lot of activities there such as windsurfing, kiteboarding, kitesurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, beach-side nature walking, sunbathing, beach volleyball, golf, and other recreational sports.

  18. my favorite travel destination in the Philippines is no other than boracay. aside from the fact that it is one of the best places here in our country, i wanna spend my vacation here with my family and friends. we love travelling especially beaches and we will definitely enjoy it. we will indulge ourselves on different recreational activities, watch the sunset, walk on the white sand, eating seafood and party! that would be a memorable day to all of us. i dreamt of treating my family and friends someday, whether big nor small treat as long as we enjoy each others company. they have been a part of my life and they mean so much to me, so it's a way of showing my appreciation to them and thanking them for their unending love and support. i believe that i deserve to treat myself too for the job well done. i'm a graduating college student and i want to enjoy my last break before entering to the world of work. honestly, i have been exhausted in school but i am so happy because i have passed those circumstances. a sweet escape would be great, right?

Baguio is by far my most favorite Philippine travel destination for several reasons, the cool weather, the warm people, the fresh veggies {imagine all the salads I had!}, the local treats especially Ube jam {my favorite!}, the beautiful tourist spots. I have only been there once, but I have decided it there is one place I'd choose to settle for good, it will Baguio, where you'd feel close to the heavens, literally + figuratively…

  24. My favorite travel destination is Baguio City, because it is a place where I get to relax a lot. It is where I used to spent sembreak and Christmas vacation with my best friend who lives there. I never get tired seeing over and over again its beautiful spots. Next time , I plan to go there with my son, it will be the first time for him.

  27. I would say, BOHOL! Actually never been there. In my 28 years of existence (ala-venus raj ^^)I can say that Bohol would still be my constant getaway dream. Im loving that place even only in my dream because of Chocolate Hills which was taught and heard sice my elementary days 🙂 I like to see tarsiers too 🙂

  29. My favorite travel destination is Antipolo Church where the famous Our Lady of Peace and Good
    Voyage Church located. Antipolo is known as the pilgrimage site. Near the church is the pasalubong area where you foyn their delicacies like the suman, mangga, kalamay, and kasoy. Their food are also good. The people here are very hospitable and they always smile. There are also a lot of good resort here especially those overlooking area. I also visited the Hinulugang taktak. Theres a lot of places that you need to explore if you really want an adventure trip and loves the nature experience.

  31. My favorite travel destination in the Philippines is Bohol because it was where my parents came from. Bohol is home to the famous specie tarsier and even more famous and breath-taking Chocolate Hills. A Bohol vacation, no matter how short it is, always recharges and destresses me. Bohol is home (but I am not a tarsier *wink*).
