Hello, Lia.

I came across this photo while organizing the picture folders on my laptop.

It reminds me of one of my favorite poems, a poem that holds so true for me as your mother.

(I made a poem inspired by this poem, but I will just let you read it when you grow up, if you want to. I am planning to submit it to Palanca, that’s why.)

Traveling Together
If we are separated I will
try to wait for you
on your side of things
your side of the wall and the water
and the light moving at its own speed
even on leaves that we have seen
I will wait on one side
while a side is there
– W.S. Merwin

Always on your side of things,
Mama
