Jeepneys playing “Pasko Na Naman”. Decadent fruit cakes on grocery decks. Humongous lanterns. Kids lilting Christmas carols every ten minutes. The friendlier weather. The Ber months has indeed arrived, and for many of us Pinoys, it is the beginning of something grand, of something our shopping spines are tingling for.

Christmas.

There’s never been a season more notorious for hoarding hordes in malls and elsewhere. With the sea of people one has to contend with from an item on sale down to the payment lines, shopping for Christmas presents can be a pain this time of the year, especially for mumsies like me who have a forever hip-attached baby.

…which makes me sooo thankful for online shopping. The convenience of having to look at a catalogue as long as desired, to purchase gifts, place them in an electronic cart and take out an item or swap it with another anytime before checkout then pay for it anywhere and anytime – all with a mouseclick – is a  godsent for busybees like me who don’t have the time to take my hoarding haggling skills to Divisoria or the mall. It’s swift, it’s easy. No fighting tooth and nail for an item or for your place in a long line.

Goodies nicely wrapped and mailed from Zalora just two days after I purchased them. Note that I live in the province.

Last year, I purchased some last-minute Christmas gifts from Zalora Philippines along with a pair of Tribus and Bebe Chic diaper bag for a Corregidor trip, and I loved how quick and fuss-free the whole process was: from the free sign-up to catalogue browsing to product replacements. Over 50,000 diverse products for sale and not one bit did I get hassled. The products are neatly arranged by categories (clothing, shoes, accessories, etcetera) and subcategories. You can search by brand too, or simply type in a keyword on the search bar, and voila! Results are populated instantly.

Bebe Chic diaper bag bought from Zalora. Still standing till now!

But above all, I love the perks. The free P250 voucher upon sign-up.The occasional payday-national holiday bargains. Free and hassle-free delivery for every P1,000 purchase. The prompt and responsive six-days-a-week customer service department. The free 30-day return. Yep, I availed all that, but the 30-day return takes the cake. I just filled out the return form that came with my purchase, brought it along with my unused Tribu Mangyan sandals to an LBC outlet (turns out a woman’s feet does get a size bigger after giving birth), and in three days, I received my brand spanking new size 9 Tribu replacements. No exhaustive justifications on why I need to return the item – which is much more I can say for SM’s too rigid returns policy!

Free holiday discount voucher together with my purchases. Now how can a lady resist that?

(Naturally, underwear is a no-no for returns though).

I also got a sweet surprise when they delivered my items wrapped individually in neat Holiday wrappers along with a discount voucher inside! For a pioneer in the business of fuss-free online shipping store, Zalora Philippines sure knows how to please.

If you are a busybee who badly needs last minute Christmas gift shopping, you might want to consider online hubs like Zalora. Now that’s a truly snappy and convenient way to shop this Christmas.

Have you done online shopping before? How was your experience so far?

  1. Argh. Yun usually ang kalaban natin, tinatamad magpasa! Haha. Mahirap nga naman i-screen ang ating works and critique which is Palanca-worthy. Hehe. Naku, 'wag na mag-ilusyon! Sali na next year!

And thank you for the encouragement 🙂

  2. Working as scriptwriter/copywriter, I have an illusion na kaya kong sumali sa Palanca haha.. eh tamad ang peg ko 🙁 hanggang dream na lang ako for now..you, on the other hand sis Buchi, can do it. try mo na join for next year…go! go! go! 🙂

  3. Why don't I know about this resort?! Lol. I'm looking for a place to bring the kids- thanks for sharing this!

  4. I got to read different posts about this issue. I think everyone has their own points to consider but where will it lead them? I believe in fighting for each one's belief but this issue is beyond that. Mapa breastfeeding mom or not, isa lang naman ang common goal natin – to give what's best for our children so why fight? Siguro tuwang-tuwa yung company ngayon because the more sensational the ad is, the better diba?
