Ah, weekends. That time of the week for all-hell-breaks-loose partying, nice sit-down dinners and full-on relaxation. Those are probably on your must-do list if you’re a singleton, but for moms with hyperactive infants and tots like me, weekends begin with one agenda in mind: laundry and chores. Okay, maybe an occasional smoothie-making sesh on the side.
A quiet weekend is a luxury, a distant memory for us moms. Amid the repetitive symphony of Dora and Boots, a baby haggling for attention, the hapless barking of dogs, the collective uproar of washing machines and vacuum cleaners, and more Dora, I long for the hum of noiseless appliances that could make housekeeping on weekends more bearable enjoyable.
Now I’m not one to complain. I’d prefer a house that’s kempt and a nice smoothie in hand, but weekends at home would be more restful if we could blend refreshing shakes without yelling, or enjoy baby coos and MP3s sans earplugs while vacuuming the floor. These simple pleasures are what make weekends unique and happier, albeit loaded with chores.
The Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green. Smooth, sleek and incredibly silent.
So. Is there any other way we can turn the volume knob down on these things?
Now I don’t know if you’ve heard it yet, but Electrolux says we can. READ: Silent blenders and equally silent vacuum cleaners. They’ve got to be kiddin’, right?
Well, turns out these guys are no pranksters, especially when it comes to creating green, nifty innovations. While endowed with great suction prowess, the new Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green’s loudest is 68 decibels – barely a whimper in the realm of vacuum cleaners. Check out this lady doing the road test on hers:
It’s not named Green for nothing. At 1250 watts, it’s as powerful as one which has a 2000-watt motor, so you consume 40 percent less energy. The recycled material’s eco-friendly, too.
I do have a trusty Electrolux Dynamica at home which really does the job in keeping everything spic-and-span. But my 11-month old doesn’t fancy the loud suction much, and so does our Rottweiler.
The rottie hates it when I vacuum. Talk about noise barrage!
There’s also the chic Electrolux Powermix Silent Blender, engineered with a Sound Reduction System that allows it to run on reduced vibrations and enhanced airflow, so you can create a chock-full of wild flavors without the wild noise – up to ten times less whirring sound than the conventional blender machine. Told ya these guys weren’t kidding.
It’s also very easy to use, and – wait for it – the parts are completely detachable! How’s that for guaranteed spotless cleaning?
Oh, hello there, algae. Compared to conventional blenders like ours (above), the Electrolux Powermix Silent Blender has completely detachable parts to ensure utmost cleaning of every corner and space.
Weekends? Technically they’re not ours for the taking. There’s much cleaning to attend to, so many smoothies to craft in so little time. But there’s also much to be said about a coveted quietude as a mom tries to fix organic purees for the little bub, or a mocktail or two; as she tries to make sense of her first slurry words, and watch Dora and sing with her for the nth time; as she makes sense of the news or random conversations on the dinner table. These are the best things about weekends: it’s those noiseless times in between when despite being in the middle of a chore, we can spend more time with family, collect our motherly thoughts, drift away somewhere solemn, and channel our energy into our chakras. Okay, maybe I’m going overboard with that last bit, but you get my drift.
All we need is a little less noise from trusted electric assistants. And then some 🙂

Electrolux is getting interesting…I'll definitely check out their new cool appliances. 🙂
Looks like technology is on our side this time. Our vacuum cleaner, at most times, scares my baby because of the noise it makes. Good thing for Electrolux. I do hope we can squish it in our budget someday.
I have been reading very good reviews with this brand. The vacuum cleaner we have is not noisy at all, we bought it at S&R, but the blender is a different story hehe..
Now, I should check this out. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about these Electrolux products. Lalo na the blender, I think I need to replace na ours. We just used it last weekend and the kids are shouting for us to stop kasi ang ingay ingay daw nung blender namin. 🙁
For a brand that's been around since we were kids, Electrolux is one brand that's worth its consumers' trust. we're Electrolux users ourselves and they've got some really cool, solid products.

You should, dear. They may be pricier than other brands, but the product quality says it all 🙂
I love happy weekends with my family and of course a peaceful one.
Why, don't we all do? 🙂
I can attest to their noiseless appliances, as our washing machine is electrolux. Although not totally noiseless, but it's not irritating to the ears.
Electrolux does make high-quality appliances. I haven't tried their washing machine, but I've heard so many good reviews.

Mine too! My baby isn't fond of the vacuum cleaner either. Good for Electrolux innovating these noiseless appliances.
Haha! Wala pa rin ata akong nababasang noiseless blender. Might be worth the try 🙂
Hehe, blenders can really get to kids nu?
