Last May 12, Electrolux held its Doom of the Broom Culminating Event at the Via Veneto Function Room of the A. Venue Suites Makati. Top qualifiers for the Doom of the Broom Contest were invited to the event, and out of 30-ish candidates, ten entries were chosen. Each of the ten winners was awarded with a hot new Electrolux Dynamica.

Fresh off the market: The Electrolux Dynamica

Me and a few bloggers

The event marks the official launch of Electrolux’s broombuster/ anti-broom campaign. If I may quote from the PR staff: “Nagpoprotesta kami laban sa broom!” Me, too. Me, too.

Product Manager Andrea Pionilla
giving the opening remarks

To encourage more Filipinos to ditch their brooms, Electrolux placed swap-your-broom booths in major malls and appliance stores in Metro Manila until May 31. Customers got P1,000 off Dynamica’s regular price of P3,995 in exchange for their brooms. Amazing deal, huh?

Azure’s Chef Philippe prepared a sumptuous dinner buffet of chicken teriyaki, fish fillet, boiled veggies and fruit desserts. Exquisite dinner, monsieur ^_^

Charade and weakest link games followed after Electrolux’s Product Manager Andrea Pionilla made her opening remarks. Winners were given T-shirts, Spa GCs and a vacuum-cleaner-design flash disk.

During the event, Electrolux’s  marketing and PR Staff demonstrated Dynamica’s cyclonic power, and walang bola, it really does wonders for cleaning surfaces. At 800 watts, Dynamica is powerful enough to suck things as small as paper clips and dust, to materials as noticeable as garden pebbles. Its filter automatically separates dust from bigger particles. Plus, the filter is 100% washable! No need to replace the filter everytime 🙂

And then came the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the announcement of the winners! Jigs and I were eyeing on the long row of Dynamica cleaners beside the stage, and crossing our fingers that we’d be bringing home one (pwede rin two, hehe) at the end of the night.

1st PlaceAeirin Acosta of Pinayads.com

Judges and guests (including me) were amazed at the intricacy of Aeirin’s comic strip entry. Her entry earned her a whopping 231 (or more) viewer comments. She brought home an Eletrolux induction cooker plus a rice cooker on top of her very own Dynamica

Ang swerte! Congrats!

Jigs and I were super happy. We celebrated with one San Mig Light each at Botong’s Up Restobar in Makati Ave.

Cheers to the start of a broomless era!

Even if we reached home past midnight already, Jigs was antsy to try the Dynamica himself. I tell you, it’s a well-deserved name. Really nifty, dynamic gadget.

At 1.6 kilograms, Dynamica is lightweight and easily navigable; any momma can do vacuum cleaning with just one hand. I like how it glides smoothly onto surfaces.  It’s equipped with small bristles underneath, which picks up all fur and dirt. Its sleek, compact razor-like design allows easy storage.

Many, many, many thanks to Electrolux! 🙂 Now I don’t need to convince my husband to clean the house; He asks for it! Haha.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to post comments on the blog, especially those who posted twice (once here and once in Facebook). Your comments helped us win. We owe you guys one.
